Each year, we look forward to welcoming new and returning Summer School participants to this special learning opportunity. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts New England, we will continue to closely monitor the situation throughout the spring. The health and safety of our New England School of Addiction and Prevention Studies community is our utmost priority.
We will carefully review information and guidance from state and local public health authorities, Centers for Disease Control, and the World Health Organization in the coming weeks.
For now, we are proceeding with plans for the 51st Annual New England Summer School, scheduled for June 1 – 4, and registration remains open. Our planning committee has once again developed a wonderful program, with nearly 100 courses.
These plans may need to change as the COVID-19 situation develops, and we remain in close communication with the program venue. Changes in plans might mean the program’s cancellation, postponement, or adjustment. Please make sure that you have neias@neias.org on your safe sender list to ensure that you receive all update emails.
If the program is cancelled or postponed, it will be announced on this website and emailed to participants no later than May 16, 2020. If the program is cancelled, any payments made will be fully refunded.
We sincerely hope that conditions will allow the Summer School to take place. During this time, we recognize that flexibility is more important than ever. While we ask for notice if registered participants must cancel, due to these unusual circumstances, late cancellation policies will be relaxed, and payment will be fully refunded.
We understand that many individuals attend the Summer School to acquire a large block of continuing education contact hours for licensing and credentialing purposes. Our hope is that by June we can still offer this opportunity, while protecting your health and safety. We will continue to monitor developments to inform any alterations, postponement, or cancellation of the Summer School event.
